This cheerful beach bash was inspired by the Italian beaches and it’s making me want to pack my bags and hop on a plane right about now! It’s the perfect theme for any baby shower, family beach gathering, or maybe even some girl time in the sun. It’s bright, it’s happy, and it’s one cute party! You can check out more of it at 100 Layer Cakelet here.
Can you believe that it’s already the end of the school year?! I guess it’s true what they say…time really does fly by as you get older ;)
End of the school year means it’s time to gift those special angels we call teachers with a little something to say thank you. I created 5 new items that I think you will love that add that perfect personalized touch.
These gifts are also featured on the Beijos Blog here!
We all know what teachers really need after a long, hard day with students - a glass of wine! Gift them your favorite bottle with this personalized tag tied on. Maybe even pair it with a couple of personalized wine glasses as well!
This one might be one of my favorites - a little sign to stick in your favorite plant or flowers! “Thanks for helping me grow” is always a nice sentiment for a teacher and you can grab some great plants from places like Trader Joe’s or this fun faux one from Target! Maybe even pair it with some fun gardening supplies for a little something extra.
Now let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Go pick up your teacher’s favorite cupcakes (or even donuts, bagels, etc!) and stick these cute little cupcake toppers in them. You can get them in wood (as shown) or colored acrylic (would be super cute in your school’s colors!).
Now what kind of teacher gift post would this be without a coffee option?! Pair this wooden tag with a cute mug (I loved this one from Target!), a gift card and maybe even a bag of some great coffee beans. Coffee for before school, wine for after - told you I had it covered! ;)
Last but not least, no matter what you’re getting your favorite teacher, add this wooden apple tag to it to make it special and one of a kind. What teacher wouldn’t love having a little keepsake to remember your sweet student by?!
what many people don’t know is i actually work part-time in marketing on top of poppyjack! i started my career off in pr & marketing and have shifted over the years to specialize more in social media & digital marketing. i tell you that because this shower was actually for my boss from that job - mark atalla of carlyle capital!
mark and his wife yasmin have become dear friends since i began working there & when they announced they were having their first baby, i couldn’t be more thrilled for them! next came the fun part - getting to design their baby shower!
We held it at shady canyon golf club in irvine and while rain was in the forecast all week, it turned out to be the most beautiful, perfect day. i brought in some of my favorite vendors & together we created an unforgettable event to celebrate baby atalla on the way!
of course i had to make lots of little details to make it a special day for mark & yasmin. As you walked in, you couldn’t help but notice the large photo op decorated with an ombre of pink balloons and a custom name sign that read, “Baby Atalla”. Guests walked around with mimosas in hand with our fun “it’s a girl” heart stir sticks and custom pink napkins! A unique touch was our pink acrylic signage that showcased a few popular baby shower activities that i’m sure a few of us are all familiar with. Has anyone joined in on the diaper thoughts game and advice for new parents?!

Anyone else just love the companionship of a furry friend?! We love animals over here at PoppyJack Shop (in case you couldn’t tell, ha!) We have multiple products that have the common theme of puppies, kittens, bunnies, and even unicorns! You name it, we can do it. A few months back, I jumped at the opportunity to create details for a party centered around puppy love! With the help of a few vendors we were able to create the cutest front yard party for some kiddos. We placed the tables with dog bone place cards lettered with each kids’ name, black acrylic and wood drink stirrers in the shape of paws, and bow-wow puppy placemats. These really pulled everything together! Lastly, we created a bone-appetite cake topper for Frost Your Cookie’s fun cake! Check out this great kid’s party over at Kara’s Party Ideas!

Summer is right around the corner, which means there will be plenty of pool parties in our future! When the Beijos Ladies told me they were styling a Moana themed pool party, we knew it was going to turn out cute! One of the many things that I love about Beijos is how they can take the concept of Moana and completely make it their own with small, but big details that fit the overall theme. They incorporated tropical florals, papaya place cards (done by me!), pretty leis, and cute kiddos ready to have some fun in the sun! A few details that I loved were our floral & leaf drink stirrers, Moana cake topper, and some wood signage spread through out the party with Moana sayings on them. Even if a Moana themed party is not on your calendar this summer, this could be a great place to start for a tropical or surf themed party! Check out more over at 100 Layer Cakelet.
Cinco de Mayo may be over, but that doesn’t mean the fiestas have to stop! In our opinion, they should be all year long. A fiesta themed party can go well with any occasion: a bachelorette party, bridal shower, kid’s party, backyard dinner, summer barbecues, you name it! Luckily for you guys, we have plenty of fiesta inspired items available in the shop. One of my favorites is from our Guac Your World Party we did not too long ago. This colorful fiesta included our hot pink laser cut acrylic signage displayed on the wall as well as a custom 11x14 wood sign that reads “I know guac is extra”! If you’ve been itching to fiesta then send us a message! We’d love to help out.

This weekend may not have any sunshine in our forecast, but we all know there will be plenty of warm days ahead! This kumquat tablescape screams spring time to me. Bright orange, fresh kumquats displayed on the table, disposable modern tableware (no dishes!), and one beautiful backyard. Does anyone else love having a party in their backyard? There is just something about it! This pretty table set up would be a great start for any bridal shower, baby shower, summer wedding, or garden party coming up. I decided to use our acrylic placecards for the guests’ names, which added the sweetest personal touch! As well as some fun custom stir sticks. Scroll to see more of this bright spring party!
Did you know that we can make pretty much anything customized in our shop? If you have a theme for your event coming up, and you aren’t finding any items that fit what you’re looking for then message us and we can make magic together! Speaking of customized shop items, here is a sweet ballet themed party put together by Beijos Events. It’s filled with lots of balloons, sweet treats, pink accents, and of course tutus! We were able to put together a few customized signs with the cutest sayings, “tutu sweet” and “swirl & twirl for the birthday girl”. How adorable is that?! No birthday party would be complete without dessert, so adding our ballerina cupcake toppers and custom birthday cake topper to the mix was just the icing on top of the cake! This pretty ballet party was featured on 100 Layer Cakelet.

Let’s start your weekend off right with this fun, and magical Unicorn Party! I have a good amount of unicorn themed party supplies in my shop right now, so I thought I would show off this pretty and very pink party that I helped the Beijos Ladies with a few months back. Three words: Pink, Unicorns, and Sparkles. What girl doesn’t love all of that?! A few items from this shoot are listed in my shop and if you scroll down a little then you can shop the items right on this page! Every great party starts with a nacho bar, right? We think so! This Cinco de Mayo shoot was inspired by cacti and plenty of vibrant colors. Whenever a few talented vendors join forces, you know it’s going to be a show stopper! My favorite detail was the taco wall that featured our pink acrylic laser cut sign, or was it the flower and cactus stir sticks that added a pop of color to the cocktails?! I can’t decide! Whether you’re throwing a small fiesta with your girlfriends or having a taco themed party for your kiddos, this will be sure to give you some inspiration for all the events ahead. Some other Fiesta items that would make any table look good is our Fiesta Party Placemats and the “nacho business” raised lettering sign, which is featured in the colorful party below. The prettiest set up with Pottery Barn Kids is just the inspiration you’ll need for your own Easter or Spring tablescape! When I was asked to assist with a few details of this shoot- I was so excited to be apart of it! Butterflies, dreamy pink, rose gold details, baby’s breath, and bunnies?! Yes please! Not only would it be a beautiful look for Easter, but any Spring or Garden party you’re hosting coming up. It was perfectly styled and since it worked out so well, I decided to list a few of the items from this shoot in my shop! Have you heard of Glowforge? Maybe you’ve been in the market for a laser cutting machine for a while or you’re new to this whole concept…either way, you need to know about Glowforge! Adding this machine to my tool lineup has been an absolute game changer.
Read on to hear all about the machine and see how you can get
$500 off a Pro, $250 off a Plus or $100 off a Basic!
I have the Glowforge Pro which is the laser cutting printer that I use to engrave and cut out many of the items in my shop that you all love so much. From the Easter bunny tags to my cake toppers, this bad boy gets the job done - all from the comfort of my own home. Glowforge offers three different printer options: Pro, Plus and Basic. The main difference between these three options are the slight variance in power and speed of the machine but really what sold me on the Pro was the Passthrough Slot and the enhanced cooling system, so it can run pretty much all day long.
I run my business 99% out of my home - which is a one bedroom apartment. Needless to say, space is limited and my loft office is already a bit full. I love that the Glowforge is small enough to fit in our bedroom and not be a nuisance. The Glowforge needs to be ventilated out a window or dryer vent which is why we chose this spot, next to our sliding glass door. Lifting it on this storage rack from Target was another one of my engineer husband’s genius ideas and creates the perfect solution for storing all of my materials below it as well.
The bed of the machine itself holds a piece of material about 12x18” max. With the Pro, that Passthrough slot allows your piece to be much longer than 12”. More on that below!
The Glowforge uses a camera on the lid to help you navigate your print area on your computer. With their app, you bring in your designs as SVG files (I create my art in Adobe Illustrator first) and can adjust the settings depending on the materials you are engraving or cutting.
Proofgrade material contains a little QR code on the piece of material for the camera on the machine to scan. Once scanned, the machine knows exactly what it’s cutting and the perfect settings to do so. Pretty cool, right?!
Even though Proofgrade material is available to use and purchase through their website, you can also use your own materials. I source most of mine locally but it’s nice to have the option of ordering through Glowforge and knowing what they have will work!
The front of the machine has a little door that can be pulled down. This is super helpful for pulling my final pieces out of the machine or loading a piece just right. The door does need to be closed while running though.
And here is the Passthrough Slot in all her glory! This is a huge reason most people purchase the Pro version of the Glowforge. If you are interested in making pieces that are longer than about 18”, you’ll want to consider the Pro version. Your material goes through a little slot in that front door, meaning you can have pieces that are as long as you want! I will also say, this feature is nice to have even when you are cutting something smaller, but your piece of material is slightly bigger than the bed of the machine. This way I’m not limited or having to cut every piece of material down!
It’s important to remember that just because you have a laser cutting machine, that doesn’t mean that’s all you need to know. Yes, Glowforge makes the actual process of cutting and engraving very user-friendly, but you still need to have some knowledge of design and creating files for your products. If you have the knowledge or business in place though, maybe you’re outsourcing now or want to expand your offerings, I would definitely recommend Glowforge to you.
